Hi, JonsGrams, and welcome! Yes, depression and anxiety can be horrible. I went through a really bad phase of it but now have it under control...with no medicatin. You are right. This is fear. Once that really sunk in, I knew I could handle it. What did I have to be afraid of? I also found a scripture that helped me so much and it is in my signature at the bottom of this post. Now, when the anxiety starts to raise it's ugly head, I recognize it for what it is and "dismiss" it and focus on other things.
I totaled my car eight years ago. I was shocked that it happened but felt blessed because I hadn't been seriously injured. I bought a new car, also, and absolutely love it. I think you will love your new car, too. A minivan, being larger, should be safer, too. If the accident was your fault, like mine was, you have learned a good lesson. I failed to yield and I guarantee you, that won't happen again. So try to kick the anxiety to the curb, climb in the car and head out. Maybe go to the store with your husband. Once you do, you will see that you don't have anything to be afraid of. Give it a try. Don't let fear manipulate you. Get ticked off instead and prove "Fear" wrong!
I also have diabetes and keep good control of my blood sugar. I've been diabetic for 19 years and have had no side effects from the illness. Just pay attention to what you eat, eat low carb meals, and take your medication (if you are put on any). We do have a wonderful diabetes forum on HealingWell, also. So, if you see you are diabetic, you might want to check that out.
Be sure to check out Fibro 101...the second thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro and you can learn a lot there...possibly things that can help you, too.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. Hope to hear more from you soon. Also, check out my signature for that scripture I mentioned above. It might help you as much as it helped me!
