I tend to be more vulnerable to burnout during the winter months. Winter is hard on us...personally I flare alot during this time. It takes more effort for me to stay on an even keel. Getting out of bed some mornings is difficult...I tell myself...you will hurt more if you stay here and I know that is true. There have been days that I've curled up in the fetal position and pulled the covers up over my head and just wanted to give up...I only feel rotten after that. Working to stay motivated is worth the effort, no matter what it takes for me.
These steps help me each day.
Start each day with gentle stretching and of course my meds :)
Eat a healthy breakfast
Take time doing something I enjoy...I like to be creative
Call friends and family...take time to laugh, get out of the house
Set aside time for walking and take time for deep breathing and meditation
Recognize strengths...and find joy within myself
One day at a time is all I can do...count my blessings
