Hi, Ilovecookies, and welcome! I'm so glad you found us and joined in. What you described does sound like fibro but you need to have other illnesses ruled out first because many of the symptoms are also like other illnesses. There is no test for fibro except a tender point test.
I don't take Lyrica. Some like it but there are a lot that don't. One of the things people don't like is you usually put on a lot of weight and that's not great for the muscles. As far as continuing this, you might want to wait for a few more days to see what happens. I personally won't take things that make me feel worse. I'd let your doctor know, too, what is happening.
If your doctor wants to put you on Cymbalta, remind them that you are taking Zoloft. These drugs combined can possibly cause something called Serotonin Syndrome.
Be sure to read Fibro 101...the second thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there. Good starting links for you would be the ones called Symptoms, What Else Could It Be, and A Thorough Explanation of Fibromyalgia. You just might see yourself there. Also, there is an article in Fibro 101 all about Serotonin Syndrome with links to the Mayo Clinic. You probably need to read that too. We have to be our own advocates with this illness. So learn all you can. Knowledge is power!
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you. Hope to hear more from you soon.
