My friends and family have asked on occasion how I'm doing...I often wonder...is this a trick question? The answer I give could be a standard, such as... fine...thanks. The true answer would be... as well as I think I'm doing at that particular moment.
We are humans and our emotions can change from day to day. Life's challenges are easier to deal with when we focus on the things that can help us. I believe when we do that we are putting ourselves in a positive mindset. Things do get easier if you believe they are...it takes practice. Each day you are more apt to do something to help take the focus off the pain. All we can do is try, try try.
Try, try, try to do your best
Trust that He will help with the rest
Don't spend the time to worry or let yourself fret
You go through life...you get what you get
Be grateful for the blessings that you do recieve
Never give up, have faith and believe
Things can get better...sometimes they do
The first step is yours...it begins with you

I hate that question! I always have to do the internal test of, are they being polite, am I to be honest, or do I just lie and say 'fine.'

My standard answer to someone I know is just being polite is "upright and functional"
