Have either of you been tested for RA (rheumatoid arthritis)? I only ask because sometimes people get tested and think that because the test for the rheumatoid factor came back negative, they can rule out RA, but unfortunately, that's not true...
If the rheumatoid factor test comes back positive you definitely have the disease, but if it comes back negative, you still may have it, because twenty percent of people who have RA will never test positive.
I have serum-negative RA, and so many people rule it out as soon as they see "negative" on the rheumatoid factor test. I certainly hope that neither of you have to deal with RA, but if that's what's wrong, you're certainly going to want to know.
My pain started in my index fingers, and was just as you describe, FibroProf...not trying to scare you, but just wanting to make sure that your understanding the test results correctly.
Don't hesitate to ask if you have more questons...I know this isn't the RA part of the forum, but I'm sure it's ok to devote a post or two to the subject here if you have a question. Best of luck to both of you!
