Pick something you want to start with. Make gradual changes so that it isn't too overwhelming. Did you want to start with exercise or diet or someplace else??? We can help you along. Stretching is good. Gentle stretching. You can start off your morning that way. What kind of special chair did you get??? Let us know.

Take it one day at a time. One moment at a time if you have to. I know it gets overwhelming, but you will get there. It ends up being lifestyle changes. You will get use to it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask...

Hugs, Karen

If you are using chairs with those bands, be careful.  You don't want to overdo.  There are some gentle stretching exercises on Fibro 101 that are very good and you can expand on those.

Hi, I'm newly diagnosed and feel like there's so much to learn, but I've also noticed that for me it's an anxious and desparate feeling of easing the pain. I want to find something yesterday to help me. But I also don't want to take meds because of the side effects. It's all so new for me that I haven't found anything that helps much, but walking helps and light massage helps. The massage I've gotten is only what my hubby gives me, so I'm interested in getting a massage from someone who really knows how to help me. I've read that vitamins D & B12 are helpful, so I've started taking those daily.

I read and re-read fibro 101 and come back here to the forums almost daily to read and see what helps others. Also, to just be able to talk to people who know what I'm giong thru and don't think I'm making it all up. I mean, who would make this up??? Why would you? I want to do stuff, not sit around in pain, crying.

Anyway, sorry for that little rant there, lol. Hope you find this forum as helpful as I do.

Kittetta- don't be disapointed if you don't see results for awhile. It does take time and some days you will feel like you are going backwards. As the days go on, you will see more better days then bad days. At least this is how it has worked for me. How I started was writing down my symptoms and picked the worse that was bothering me the most. Then I looked for solutions on making them better. As I got them under controlled, I went to the next symptom. Some symptoms I was able to manage by myself. Others I had to seek a medical Dr for those symptoms. Most of my learning came from this site. Remember that we are all different and respond different to treatments and meds. For example, I tried vitamin B 12 and it made my heart race too much. I had to look for other ways to increase my energy. Just be patient.

Accept the condition, accept your limitations, accept yourself, and don't give up -- but I've found that accepting myself and trying to go with the flow, working.THROUGH Fibro instead of battling.it reduces my stress/frustration, and that ends up helping my symptoms too.
46F, Fibromyalgia, Vitamin D deficiency, Sleep Apnea/CPAP therapy, allergies/multiple chemical sensitivities, possible Chronic Fatigue & occasional IBS symptoms.

I take vitamins, Tramadol for pain, Flexeril as needed.
