Definitely. I have two boys, 14 & 16. My youngest has had severe growing pains since two years old. They said at first it was Lyme, then it was juvenile RA, and now it is simply growing pains due to hypermobility (double jointed) and he never had the others. He has joint and connective tissue pain.
Now my 16yo is different. He has the fatigue without the pain, but has severe migraines. He is usually in bed by ten and this is after a 2 hour nap between 4 and 6. The doctors have checked everything and there is no reason for fatigue.
I have been dx with fibro and cfs for almost a year. The more I learn about it, the more I remember my juvenile struggles and see similarities in my sons. I have a lot of fibro in my family and there is some on their father's side too. So the chance of this missing them is slim, however I feel that it isnt impacting their life to a degree where they would need fibro medicine. I use ibuprofen for joint pain and antihistimines and tylenol for headaches. The fatigue is a little more difficult. I am trying to show him that diet and lifestyle changes can make a big difference.
