I went to the store and grabbed quite a few things.
I'm still having my insomnia episode, and pulling 36 hours no sleep.
I decided to go to the supplement section of the store and look and see what they had.
I decided to start with my sleep problem first seeming as how it does cause a lot of disturbance.
So I'm taking Melatonin(3mg) + L-Theanine(200mg). Someone mentioned that they used this, so I want to try it out myself. I'm praying this somehow works to help my sleep.

So if anyone uses it, leave input.

Wish my medicine hating body good luck!

Also, one of my annoying problems with my ankle popped up, so it's majorly swollen from my toes to my heel to halfway up my leg, and has the worst burning pain.
Anyone else get this?

Boodle,

Good luck to your medicine hating body! :) I know that when I started getting more sleep, it helped my general Fibro pain immensely. Maybe the Melatonin and L-Theanine will be just the thing for you. 36 hours with no sleep can really do a number on you!

What do you think is going on with your ankle? If it keeps up, I'd definitely see a doctor about that.

Thank you!

I really don't know. During hotter weather(I live in Las Vegas), my ankle seems to flare. It happened all of last summer. My Rheumy said it was just part of the Fibro, but I am not so sure. It gets really swollen and it'll burn constantly. It'll get to the point where even when I'm trying to sleep it won't stop burning and I end up not being able to sleep.

If the melenton doesn't help try two benadryl.

I've gone 22 hours without sleep. Very tiring and frustrating.

Try to have a nice long sleep.
I'm going to bed myself.

Good morning, Boodle.

I hope you slept well. I usually take 1 melatonin at bedtime and two 200 mg. l-theanine. If I have that wide awake feeling in the middle of the night I take another l-theanine. If that doesn't work I take another melatonin.

Boodle, you mentioned the burning. I use to have a lot of burning in my body and the burning seemed to bring out the fibro pain too. It was very difficult for me to fall asleep when I was experiencing this. I've found by staying away from certain inflammatory foods, that it's helping.

Let us know how it goes.

I have used melatonin. I often find it works for a few nights and then stops. So I use something else for awhile, when I go back to the melatonin, it works again. I hope that it works everytime for you.

I often take ambien for sleep. It knocks me right out. When I don't take the ambien or the melatonin, I use meditation. That works well for a lot of things. Anxiety for one.

I hope you get some sleep. Going without isn't good.

Hugs, Karen...

The ankle swelling isn't fibro. Fibro is not an inflammatory issue, it shouldn't cause swelling. Has your doctor done any xrays? When you have fibro its easy to blame it for everything.

I have problems sleeping, and I take melatonin nightly for it. If It does not work, I take 2 benadryl. I am usually unable to sleep without one of the two. I have stopped drinking caffeinated beverages, and exercise regularly, but it seems that I still have problems.

Boodle,

Are you on any meds that could cause swelling?
