Hello Anna :) First off, your on the right tack ! It's great that you have already lost some excess weight, too.
Walking / hiking is an excellent way to get your exercise :) Running ? eh.. maybe for you :) Not so much for cavemen like myself ;) LOL
The cycling trainer is great too... if it doesn't bore you to death, like mine does :) LOL
I would say, "just do it"..... but listen to your body. Especially at first, try not to push too hard. Later on, you will likely be able to walk / hike /run farther, for longer, but because of conditioning, not really having to try any harder than you do now :)
Only you know how hard you are pushing. I don't think anybody can really tell you how much cardio you need, or can handle, right now. That's up to your body.
Debbie was right, I totally had to work up to where I'm at now.
Just getting back into my outdoor hill climbs with bthe nice Spring weather trying to come on...
Last two days I hiked / hill climbed a total of about 6 hours, for 15 miles, and 2000 feet of elevation gain. Totally feeling it this morning, but in a not so bad way :)
The #1 most important thing > Make exercise a normal, routine, every day.... or at least several X's every week, kind of thing !
PS, Not sure if you have considered it, or if you are able, but nothing accents good cardio exercise better, than some resistence training (weights :)) ....very light at first, of course.... But if you can work around / through your Fibro pains, this could also help you a TON ! It has me. :)
On a mission to help at least one person with Fibro / IBS, knock it into submission like I have. More than one person would be even better though ;)
