Thank you for asking, Sherrine. I didn't use crutches very well, lol. I just hobbled from room to room and stayed home.
I am doing better with the boot. I learned the hard way that a short boot is painful for my fibro (it aggravates the muscles around my shins), but a regular size (up to the knee) boot is tolerable. You just never think about
all the things fibro can affect.
I'm still not planning any long walks, but I'm hoping if I stay off my foot as much as possible (per doc's orders), I will be able to walk in a normal shoe soon.
I just had to add that if I ever have to be in a cast or boot for a really extended period of time, I would get a knee walker. I didn't get one this time because of the cost and my short anticipated recovery time, but I did look into them, and they are the neatest thing ever! So heads up if any of my fellow fibromites ever find themselves facing crutches.
