Susan, I just look around at all the beauty around me and also all the many blessings I have. There are so many things that we take for granted so I am thankful for a lot. A year ago I couldn't walk without very extreme pain and now I can walk so I added walking to my list of blessings. I hadn't thought about that before because I just took it for granted. See what I mean? You can make a list of your blessings and a list of the negative things and your blessings will be a far longer list, especially if you remember the simple pleasures of life.
Yes, take one day at a time and don't project yourself in the future. No one knows what the future holds for them anyway. Just focus on the good things in your life and you will be surprised how this can become a habit...a wonderful habit!
I smile a lot! I live by myself and still walk around the house smiling. It's a habit with me so I smile when I'm out and you know what? Perfect strangers smile back at me. That makes me happy. Also, my smiling makes people wonder what I've been up to.
In Fibro 101 there is a great link about maintaining a positivite attitude. I have read it many times...especially when I'm having "one of those days". It's really good and this might help you too.
