Hi Everyone<
I haven't posted in awhile. about a year ago after taking a extremely large dose of steroids as prescribed for hives I started getting this internal shaking inside my head. I still think the dose was way too high. Seven pills for seven days, six pills for six days and down the line. Anyway my doctor doesn't know what to do about it. Due to high blood pressure which also developed due to steroids, he gave me a blood pressure water pill which I took for 9 months and felt terrible on with many episodes of vertigo and last month after numerous complaints on my part he switched me to a beta blocker for the high blood pressure. This med helps prevent migraines and is useful in essential tremors too. I feel better on this med and my bedtime tremors seemed to have lessened because I take the med in the evening. The bad side effect is I am gaining weight rapidly. My weight has been pretty much the same for years and since starting this med I have gained 7 lbs. I know beta blockers can do that so I am trying real hard to curb my appetite. In the mornings when I wake up I still have extreme tremors inside my head. You really can't see them on the outside but I feel my heart beat inside my head and there is shaking in the back of the head, neck area. My doctor also said due to stress, my body is making too much adrenaline and that may be the problem. I saw a neuro surgeon who said I have a lot of arthritis in my neck and thinks that may be causing the tremors. I am wondering about a blood sugar problem because it seems like if I eat alittle something sweet in the morning, it settles down. I have an appt with my dr on the 27th and hopefully he will do some blood work since its has been over a year since I have had any. The surgeon wanted to do steroid injections in my neck but I refused them due to my beliefs about steroids and also when I had injections in my back, my leg was paralyzed for 8 hours while everyone else received their injections and went right home. I don't want my head to react the same way because that is scary. Anyone have an opinion on what could be happening to me. Just walking to the bathroom in the morning and getting back into bed, the internal shaking is bad till it settles down. Thank you for your thoughts.
