My man is a real sweetheart, I think I can't ask for a better one. I am a flare, he is in a ms flare. Obviously, we are a mess. So for dinner? Pizza hut tonight! I hate pizza, he loves pizza. So we compromise, he gets pizza but I can get wings and breadsticks. Household chores...hmm in two days I've done one load of laundry. We won't mention the other 2 loads needing to be done. I got to thinking though, and have a strange question for you. I have noticed my flares have more more problematic and severe and more often than when I was living at sea level. I am in 4,000 ft mountains for elevation now. Nights are already below freezing, thank goodness for heat but I'm a thinkin...could this coldness be a trigger for me? Has anyone else triggered due to cold weather? I'm used to 60s to 80s and here, nights averaging right now 19-30 and days been in mid 40s to early 50s and it doesn't warm til around noonish. Am I onto a hunch? I've took to a daily morning bath to help my stiff body a move around. I'm taking my t3 and amatripyline daily too now. Is there something else I can take to help?

Cold does affect me more. Dress warmer and get you one of those electric throws to snuggle under.

I hope you get out of your flare too soon hon. Well good night, hon. Sleep well (hopefully). I tend to wake up a lot and can't get comfy in flares.

When I moved to Alaska, it took a long time for my body to adjust. I am not sure if I just learned how to dress and adapt to it that made a difference. Our state seem to be in a constant weather front. If heat isn't your best friend already, then I would make it. I love my heating blanket at night. It relaxes my muscles, even if I am not cold I use it. I sometimes use the fan so I can have some circulating air. I just turn it and let it bounce off the walls.

Cold air always affects me negatively. As I recently said on another thread, you would think after 50-plus years of living in the Midwest 'frozen tundra,' my body would have adjusted by now, but, noooooo.......

My doctor always tells me to move to a warmer climate, but obviously that's easier said than done. In the meantime, I dress in layers, take warm baths, use bed buddies and heating pads, pile on the blankets, and wear fuzzy sock/slippers to bed. Last night it got down to 10 degrees. My feet felt frozen, even in the house, all morning! :( (It did help to move around and rev up my circulation somewhat).

Whenever it's cold it seeps into m body and makes me hurt from the inside of my bones, at least that's what it feels like. I definitely prefer and feel better when it's warm. It's a shame because I used to live the winter months, but now I dread them.

stinky634: I, too, used to "live" outside in the winter (no, not literally!), up until I was in my 20s. Even though I was chilled to the bone, I skated, enjoyed sledding, playing in the snow, etc.. Sometimes I wonder if that wasn't where my issues started(?)

I still remember sledding with some cousins one Sunday, and when we got back inside, one of my cousins looked at my hands in shock and said, "YOUR POOR HANDS!" (they were very red). Yet, I was used to it, so I didn't give it any thought.
