I too was looking into getting the sleeve, I was to the point where I got all my approval done and we were looking to pick a date. I started not feeling well and long story short I was dx'd with Lyme. My baratric doctor would not touch me. I honestly think it was a blessing. For me, I've been on a board forever talking to people who have had the different types of wls, from what they have said, it is easier to move around in general with less weight on your joints etc. but not one person ever said that it reduced their fibromyalgia. I have seen numerous posts where people that have lost over 100 pds reported they actually feel worse.
I think it is a matter that you really have to weight out the pro's and cons. If you are over weight to the point of morbid obesity they it may be the way to go, on the other hand, with certain surgeries and anemia and deficient or not able to absorb certain vitamins...it may not be the way to go. I am no doctor and do not claim to be, I've just spent years talking to many people on a wls board, and that is what I've read.
Best of Luck to you whatever you decide. I'm sure you will make sure you are armed with the proper information to make the best choice for you.
