I have gastritis, but it has thankfully (most of the time) gotten better. I still get occasional milder flares, and yes, at times, I do think it's fibro-related. I'll feel it in my aching back, straight through to the front of my (upper) stomach.
(ETA: I probably wasn't very clear about this. I mean that when my fibro flares, my gastritis can flare at the same time).
I was on a very limited diet for a while (no spices, nothing 'rough,' nothing sugary or acidy, etc.) and saw a lot of improvement. I visited the gastritis forum at Daily Strength and got some good tips there. That may be helpful to you, even if you don't specifically have gastritis--anything stomach related, acid reflux-related, gallbladder related, etc. is mentioned and tips are discussed. I don't believe Healingwell specifically has a gastritis forum, but the gerd/heartburn forum may be similar. I haven't checked that out, though.
For me, taking about a tablespoon or two of aloe vera gel in a little water or juice worked very well. I would suggest running this past your gastro doc first, though, as it may not be for everyone. It did help a lot with my healing, personally, but that's just my story. Slippery elm also helped, somewhat (another thing to run past the gastro doc).
Hope you feel better soon!! Keep us posted.
