Well, yesterday I got the skin punch test. Three places on my left leg. The punctures didn't hurt a bit, but the shots to numb the three locations were so bad, I was gripping the bed, breathing through it and white-knuckled. Wow!
They are sending the skin samples to a lab and by Christmas, we should know whether there are small fiber neuropathies. Only... a negative on this doesn't conclude negative. A negative just means they couldn't confirm it. So the dr will probably press on as if it is positive anyway... because I show so many signs of it.
The fibro/small fiber neuropathy/glucose connection is very interesting and I seem to fit it 110%. I have always had reactive blood sugar... but normal blood sugar levels. I have always shown pre-diabetic or hormonal problems... but tests are always normal. So I feel like we have solved it. But... it will still be interesting to see he tests. Yesterday, my hands were tremoring so badly, I couldn't hardly hold anything in them.
My leg hurts at the three sites, and I feel really crappy today. Just deflated. :( I forget how the flares feel until I am back in one. Then it's like, oh yah. I remember this.... ugh.
