Morning everyone,

First off alittle more about me, i worked as a Personal support worker up until 4months ago when my pain got to bad could not walk, grasp anything with my hands so I quit that job and got a job as an office manager/parts sales person. So now I sit 90% of my day. This helped my pain to lower a bit, i can now use my hands and walk without much pain.

I find by 10 i can not sit still i need to keep moving in my chair standing at my desk well working on computer. My concentration is shot by about 12. I do get up and walk around or do gentle stretching.

Does anyone have tips on how to work well in pain? Or to assist keeping the pain from getting worse throughout the day? Also what have people found to assist them with there concentration?

I will usually make a list first thing. This allows me to shift activities when my brain is getting foggy. Change is good because it keep sour brains active. This might help out, some.

Another thing I do is stay hydrated and eat healthy. That coke or cookie sounds good in theory, but can take its revenge later. I carry water everywhere. I have several pieces of fruit or nuts for snacks. If I need another choice of beverage, I try to avoid caffeine and/or sugar.

Moving physically periodically can also be helpful. This, again, really depends on the job.

I depend less on painkillers at work.

I do whatever I can to protect my sleep hygiene and bring my heating pad to work. If something starts hurting, boom. And I don't push myself! That is the biggest one. If I feel like crud, I imagine what I would be doing at home. If I don't see me sleeping, I stay at work. Otherwise, healthy eating rounds out my work arsenal besides my pain meds.
