I have! I have had 13 knee surgeries including. Partial (PKR) and a total ( TKR) I have also had to have to revisions to my TKR....my surgeon who did my TKR is amazing. My revisions are nothing he has done wrong. I actually need a 3rd revision. My ligaments etc are very loose and therefore create problems with stability .
My personal experience I would just go for the TKR. It seems the partially eventually leads to a total so mine as well just do it once.
I have hear wonderful experiences w TKR. People get their lives back!!
My revisions included a bigger spacer ( middle component! Then a longer rod into my tibia ( lower portion of the replacement) and now I need a long rod into my femur which will entail them drilling out the center of my femur. The dr said this will be the biggest and worst surgery so I am putting it off until I can no longer walk.
Even though it haven't had the best luck..I would say do it. Yes recovery and physical therapy can be tough but in the end should be well worth it.
Best of luck w your decision. Feel free to ask me any questions :) also get a 2nd opinion. That may make u feel better w your decision. I did. I even went to 2 other states because the hospitals are supposed to be the best.
