Backstory-I have been doing water aerobics for 7 years now, and find it very beneficial to my overall energy and stamina/core strength. Sure, I might hurt some that evening, but the next day is far better.
I went to the gym yesterday after work, but left my water belt and dumbbells in the trunk by accident. I decided to borrow some from the pool.
The belt was kinda okay. Mine is especially made for petite women, but the regular size one isn't so bad.
However, the dumbbells! I picked out some that were roughly the same weight and 'size'. My dumbbells are triangular, and these were the usual round ones, seemingly never used. They move through the water quite differently, and offer different resistance.
I did 40 minutes (I have been doing the same routine, more or less, for years) and couldn't walk very well. I managed to get out of the water without embarrassing myself. I hobbled to the locker room, and for the first time ever, used a shower chair. Then I moved directly to the sauna. It took some time to get dressed, then to get out to the car, etc.
Last night was rough, as usual. Even today I am feeling it.
