Purple-Sorry to hear about the sickness. There is something going around the community recently. Kids and teachers are feeling awful. So far, it has stayed away from me. It helps that I do not have kids. My bones and muscles ache, it's cold in this classroom, and I am still really out of it.
I still exercise, but am only going to hit 4 days this week. I had a cavity filled Monday afternoon after work, and have a massage scheduled on Thursday. Even when sick, I still try to hit the gym and move a little. It sounds backwards, I know. I don't do a full routine nor do I spend a long time there. But movement will help warm you up and get the blood flowing. I never regret going to the gym afterwards.
I have found it too easy to rationalize skipping, and then that becomes a habit. So, I have a general 'rule' that I have one skip day per month, not counting days with appointments after work. I know I sound crazy, and I likely am. I have done this since college though--one mental health day every semester, where I am allowed to slack. I am one of those Type-Aers, focused on goals and achievement. I understand a few things about myself-I do better with a schedule, and I feel better when I move each day. If I break my schedule, there had better be a really good reason.
Of course, I do not have children, and my house is a mess. -grins- Life circumstances are so radically different for each of us that our only shared frame of reference is this condition.
Hope you all feel better soon.
