Hi everyone,

Soaking night sweats- can anyone relate? What I would REALLY like to know is if there is a correlation between fibromyalgia, diet (sugar intake perhaps), and night sweats...

Hi BKelly and welcome!

I'm not that familiar with night sweats. I know they can occur in menopause, but so far, I've dodged that bullet! Just did a quick search on 'night sweats' and many things came up: various medications, infections, medical conditions, etc., so that's probably not a lot of help. Seems to be 'all over the map.'

Sugar does bizarre things to my body. I can tell it kicks up my nervous system at times and makes it go wacky. It's probably entirely possible that it could cause something like night sweats, but it may be best to check with your doctor to see what exactly is going on, and rule out other conditions.

Have you checked out Fibro 101, the very first post on this forum? There's some great info.

Hope you get some answers soon. Keep posting. Wish you the best!

Hi BKelly! YES, I get horrible night sweats! It's awful. I wake up during the night drenched, literally wet. Oddly I don't feel hot or even over heated. I will say that I only have those awful sweating episodes when I actually sleep. If I'm resting in bed reading or on the many nights I toss and turn, I don't have this issue. I am on 30 mg Cymbalta. I don't know if this has anything to with it. I wish I had an answer for you. I hope it helps to know you're not alone!
