Hi! I have a question. I've experienced pain in the left and right sides of my ribs and my sternum for the past couple of years. (Off and on) Now it's like all the way around my ribcage and sometimes I get a pain when I breathe in or out. Sometimes my chest hurts also. Is this a worse form of Costco? Has anyone else experienced this?

I definitely have similar pains at times..my rib area gets worse with flares, and this time of year when i am on my feet for way too long at a time...i also get chest wall pain with barometric changes..

I use many methods to relieve these pains...

Stretching the rib area helps... I get a temendous amount of pain relief with strong topical pain relievers , for examples, pain erase and soothenol x2

I use an acupressure mat..these look daunting, but feel great and i sleep deeper when i use it before sleep..

I think with fibromyalgia, and its issues..we tend to think everything is from it..we can have other things going on , so if its too bad do check with your doctor...

One other thing to consider , is the trigger point handbook..sometimes when a certain area gets too tight and painful ..i go to this book and work the trigger point based on where the pain is..and get some great help...

Costochondritis ?
I'm not sure that's part of the fibromyalgia spectrum of symptoms. It has to do with the rib cage inflammation. My doctor said people attribute a lot to fibro that isn't fibro. We are not immune to the ordinary aches and pains our bodies produce naturally.
I find that if my knee hurts when I get a flare -- it really really hurts when I have a flare. I have arthritis in my knee and back.

It seems that many with fibromyalgia..also suffer with this..

I do not show the inflammation markers but have awful rib pain at times..it seems like fascia pain to me...

Been busy and not stretching as much..this is always a bad idea!
