Lj and Sherrine: I just posted on puppylover's "Getting rid of stuff" thread. I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one working on this project!
I have a friend who is an elderly retired nun. She is still very active and creative, also. I pass along to her card fronts, little pictures (from magazines, junk mail, etc.) that she uses to make magnets and little models. Some really clever ideas! She seems to find (repurposed) uses for EVERYthing, then gives them as little gifts, prizes, etc. (She still works part-time as a teacher's aide at age 87!).
I'm glad at least some of my "stuff" is going to a good 'home.' Now to find new homes for other things. Probably places like Good Will, or I might get ambitious and attempt a garage sale. I recently gave my D-I-L two boxes of china that my godmother had willed to me-- I already had a set from my M-I-L, so didn't need more. I only use china on holidays, if I'm hosting.
We'll see what happens next in this continuing saga.....
