Ho everyone! I am new here. I was wondering if anyone has had bad hip pain that goes into your pelvis and abdomen. Feels crampy sometimes. Also has anyone had an elevated alkaline phosphatase in their blood work. Thanks would appreciate any help.

Hi, DKPain, and welcome! I’ve had bad hip pain where the pain ran down my legs so I was sent to a rheumatologist and was diagnosed with sciatica and also discovered a lot of my back pain. Was caused by ankylosing spondylitis. I’m on the right medication now and feel so much better.

What does your doctor say about the hip and abdominal pain and about your blood work? My doctor runs labs on me every six months. He has me schedule my lab work and then schedule an appointment with him two weeks later so he can go over my lab work with me, I really like this and it allows me to ask whatever questions I might have instead of wondering or worrying about them.

You never mentioned if you have Fibro or not. Have you been diagnosed with fibromyalgia? Fibro pain generally affects the muscles, tendons and ligaments. And now doctors are thinking this is a neurological problem with the nerves. So you do want to have a good PCP. Look for board certified doctors and better yet if they are also diplomates. They have to be on top of the newest things in medicine and are tested in order to keep the title of diplomate.

Be sure to read Fibro 101…the first thread on the forum. There is a lot of good info in there that could help you.

Do let us know what you find out. I’m looking forward to hearing more from you soon.
