Anyone out there with hep c that has also been on Zocor or another statin for their heart??
They started me on 20mg of Zocor last week after an angiogram that showed a small artery blockage. Had my primary care doc run a blood test to check my liver profile. A few hours after the test a nurse called and said to stop taking the zocor immediatly but she could'nt tell me why and the doc was gone for the weekend. Pretty cool huh? Now I have to wait all weekend before I can see my heart doc and find out whats up.
Anybody out there had anything similar happen with them?!?!?!    Thanks

Welcome to Healing Papatini, I haven't heard anyone taking it here. But you may want to google Zocor and liver disease and see what comes up. There's got to be a site that has the information that you need. Hopefully someone will have an answer for you soon. Take care.

Hi Papatini, Welcome to the forum. Could it be possible that your doctor didn't realize or forgot that you have hep C? One of the warnings for Zocor is that people with active liver disease should not take it. I think that is probably why they called to tell you to stop taking it.

I hope you are doing well.
There is always hope!
