Hi All,
Yesterday I was told by my Dr that he is 99.9 percent sure I have Hep C....he is running one last blood test, that has to go to an outside source (this is the third test done).  To say that I was totally caught off guard is an understatement, as I have been seperated for 13 years and have had NO sexual contact with anyone since, I have never stuck a needle in my body.  I am scared and I am the sole caregiver for my father who is suffering from Alzheimers!
What actually brought my to the Dr was I have lost all my "get up and go", and am tired all the time, also I am suffering from chronic diareha.  I am 49 years old and do not know what to do.
Will I be able to care for my father?  Help, I do not know what to expect and am really really scared.
Thanks in advance for any advise, yeah

Survive, hi and welcome to Healingwell. First of all try not to fret too much until you are 100% certain that you have hep. Fear can drive you crazy and is a huge waste of time. (although I do understand how scared you are0. Hepatitis does not necessarily mean a death sentence so try not too worry too much. There are several types of hepatitis and many treatment options so just wait until you get all the testing and biopsies done. To amswer your question; there is no reason that you can't take care of your dad. It may require some planning so that you can rest when you need to tho. Diet is very important too so you may have to adjust your eating habits too. If you read some of the old posts you will be able to gather a tremendous amount of information that will help you. Most importantly be well educated in the disease process, signs and symptoms, treatment, medications, testing, stages, etc. Learn all that you can so you are proactive in your own care. No one knows your body better than you do and ultimately the decisions are up to you. We are here for you and will help you any way that we can.
