So sorry that you have this disease.........it's no trip to the park, that's for sure.
I would definitely push your doctor to get the ball rolling to start the listing process. If you were to get cancer.........it does give you more points for the meld score as long as there is not too many tumors or they are not too large. I believe each transplant center has their own rules about
how much liver cancer is too much. So your best bet is to try and get listed now before you develop cancer and then if you do.... it raises your meld score.
And once your listed they keep a closer eye on you.
My husband had such a hard time breathing until they put him on diuretics and controlled his fluid and sodium intake. He went from a size 50 waistline to a 38 once he did as instructed by his hepatologist. He was so much more comfortable.
