Hello Everyone,
I have not posted here in a few months and have dearly missed the support from everyone. I am sitting here and I cant figure out if I am more angry that sad. My wonderful man passed this last friday, he waited so long and struggled to stay positive every day that he would get his transplant. Well he did on the 10th of this month but it was to to late his body couldnt do it. He had major complications and they couldnt even close him up because they had to keep going back in try to fix damage to his portal vein. Thankfully he never woke up and his last thoughts were "I made it"

Sue, I am so sorry for your loss. There are never the right words to say to anyone that is grieving so please accept my sincerest condolences.

Oh, {{{{{{{{Sue}}}}}}} !!!  What an awful situation.   cry    I am sooo sorry for your loss and also that the transplant came too late.  I can understand how you would feel both angry and sad.  Focus on his last words, though...that he thought he made it.

Shelly is right.  It's hard to know what to say.  Just know that my thoughts and prayers are with you, and please do continue to post whenever you feel up to it.

I am so very sorry.  You have every right to be angry.  I’m angry too.  Doug shouldn’t have waited for 8 years on a transplant list for the help he so desperately needed.  I can only imagine your emotional devastation.

I know how excited you felt when they wheeled him into the OR expecting to put his ELSD behind you.  To go from such a heightened sense of joy to complete disappointment must have thrown your body into shock.  You must be exhausted.  I hope you have someone with you to help you through this.

Doug was excited as well.  The irony is that he truly ‘made it’.  He is in the hands of the ultimate caregiver, and free of his mortal bonds.  Cherish his memory until you meet again.  Focus on yourself and seek out the support you will need to get through the sorrow of missing him.  We’ll be here anytime you need to vent.  You need to take care of YOU now.

In love and sympathy,

I'll be praying for you to find peace with it. I think those who leave us behind are watching us everyday to see how we handle things down here. I'm sure he would want you to be at peace and have tranquility in your heart that you did all you could do. God loves you and so do we.
