I have just found out I have Hep C. In a few days I will be heading to a liver specialist and starting treatment, probably the interferon combo.
I had no idea Hep C was present in my system.  It was discovered through a general check up I do each year around my birthday.  The blood work came back showing a high enzyme count and this triggered the next tests.  I had an ultra-sound done which showed some density in my liver and further blood work to detect the hep C virus.  Now I am on my way to the liver specialist.  In addition, I had my first blood test done in March but had to leave the country becasue of my work.  When I returned, a few weeks ago and visited my Dr., I learned of the high enzyme count.  However, because I experienced some stress since my first blood test in March my enzyme count went up higher on the second blood test.  So, stress may be a factor to consider with some individuals.
Since I have learned of my Hep C.  I have been on the web searching for sites and information.  I must say that I am learning alot.  This particular site provides some unique insight on Hep C.  I will try and keep this thread going on the process and effects of my treatment.
Thank you and God bless!
