I have never been advised to not drink coffee, etc.  However, on my own I started drinking green tea.  When I told my hepatologist about it, she said "good!"  Please do not take any supplements or "cleanses" without the okay of your doctor.  They can cause more harm than good.  Teas, herbs, etc. will NOT cure you of hep C or other liver diseases.  However, the more natural the substances you put in your body, the better.  Stay away from processed foods.  Eat lots of fresh fruit and veggies and no beef (most difficult protein for the liver to process.)  Drink spring water, juice, green tea.  All of these things will contribute to a healthy body in general.
