Hello. Three days ago i was admitted into the ER with extremely sharp pains in my stomach, possibly the worst pain i have ever felt. I had the pain probably for close to an hour before i went in, and had it for a good half an hour to an hour after admittance. Once i was in, they gave me an IV (salt water solution) and the pain seemed to go away. They drew blood, gave an ultrasound, and a CT scan, checking for Appendicitis. The ultrasound came up inconclusive, blood tests showed i was anemic (i dont really follow a healthy diet), and the CT scan showed an inflamed liver, and some form of fluid around my liver and gallbladder, a little of which has sunken into my pelvis. I have no sharp pains, just a dull feeling in my stomach, most likely from the pressure of the fluid. I had one more bag of fluids before they sent me home on a very restricted diet, and not really knowing what was happening. The GI doctor said he had never seen anything like this, but told me to make a follow up with my primary within the next couple days if i didnt get 100% better. I took copies of my tests and gave them to my mom, who is head nurse of a local ER. She took the tests to a surgeon at her hospital, who said he thinks it could be a rare form of mono, or my gallbladder acting up, and my mom thinks it could have been a burst absess, although my white cell count was fine. I followed up today with my primary, who took 8 more vials of blood and sent them out for hepetitis and mono tests, along with a couple others, and i will be getting results tomorrow, though i just used the bathroom for the first time since the hopsital visit, and found a small amount of white substance on the end of the stool. I looked up what that could be, and found that it is found in a couple things, along with Viral Hepetitis. I do not do drugs, nor have i ever had sexual activity with a drug user/ non-virgin. It is currently pretty early in the morning and i cant sleep because im trying to rap my head around all this information. Does anyone here have any idea's with what this could be, or has had any experience with these symptoms. I am a semi-active 19, going on 20 year old male. Thanks for any responses.

Hello Tony and welcome to HealingWell. So sorry that you were in so much pain. But glad that the hospital was able to help you.

Try not to worry about your tests results so much. I know easier said than done. But at this point its just wasted energy.

If the test results come back badly, at that point get referred to a Hepatologist. They are more knowledgeable about liver diseases. They can start you on battle plan if in fact you do have Hepatitis.

Take care......thoughts and prayers.......
