Did your primary care doc do the liver biopsy? That would really surprise me.
For a definitive diagnosis and treatment, you should be referred to a hepatologist. If you've had hep C for 10 years and have had no treatment (I suppose not, if you've just been diagnosed), the important question is whether it is chronic active (in which case, it would be destroying your liver.) If it is just chronic, that means that you have contracted it at some point, but your immune system threw it off and it is not a threat to you. This happened to me with hep B.
If you have hep B, why would you need a vaccination for it? The vaccination is to protect those who have never had it.
My advice is to get a referral to a hep doc. Primary care docs are really not very knowledgeable about viral hepatitis. You can see her for checkups, colds, minor stuff. But don't mess around with your liver!
