For my pulmonary testing today, I had to do steps...up and down and up and down...for about 10 min...with a pulse oximeter on my finger. I was glad I had been doing a lot of walking this week...from building to building at Mayo. Towards the end, my calves were getting tired, but I persisted and passed everything okay. I have learned to put myself into a semi-trance. I separate the mind from the body...my body becomes the machine...while my mind is blank. I first learned to do this when I was having a lot of root canals, pulled teeth, etc. I got even better at it during subsequent surgeries, many procedures, and much poking and prodding.
