Well, this gets embarassing quickly...
At our house, we have compensated for this problem for about 9 years. Since he had the interferon treatment.
But until a few months before transplant, we still found "ways" to enjoy each other that were, perhaps you might say, less traditional. Still lots of intimacy, some frustration, but everyone was satisfied in the end, mostly. (Girls, kinda like when you are really really pregers!)
Since transplant, not so much. We'd be happy with the intimacy and everyone satisfield in the end part...but alas.
He hadn't ever tried the blue pills thinking that with liver, kidney and heart problems, it wasn't an option. But now he's kinda completely out of commission. I think it is more complicated then blue pills .though
With liver disease AND various medications, there are the man boobs to contend with (and some women who complain of extra facial hair, etc.)...so it goofs things up for those folk's hormones in general. I am thinking that as his body gets back to normal (man boobs almost gone...hoping for some return of muscles instead), maybe he will get more back to normal in the bedroom department as well.
No rush. He is with us....and that is a good thing.
Our kids would DIE if they heard old people discussing such.
11 months post TX this week.
AST and ALT were both 20 this round of labs!!!
His Createnine and BUN are a bit up and his CBC shows low numbers for red and white counts, crit, etc. They are going to do an iron study this week.
We are in Miami for his quarterly workup--transplant clinic, oncology, hepatology (for the ol' Hep C), and cardiology. They will decide whether to add nephrology after they see him this week. MRI, Xrays, a gallon of blood and a Transthorasic Echocardiogram (he needs a heart valve, but so far they are waiting).
In hotel, our home away from home, til Thursday, but I have my computer and my writing stuff, so we are all set.
His majesty just drove the 3 hours down here, and so, is sound asleep. That does'nt much change after transplant if you still have Hep C! He is more lively during his awake time now..and not grumpy. Thank goodness.
