I agree with others, that the nasties are all part of the disease...we had it here for a long time. These kind folks listened to me in 2010 and 2011 when it was so bad.
I went to a counselor myself and we talked about
how he got sick, what his being sick meant to me (and to him), and what it might be like if/when he passed. Because this cirrhosis business ends badly. End Stage Liver Disease is just what it says. The END.
Bar transplantation. And some are eligible and well enough to wait for a donor liver and some are either not interested or don't qualify or don't make it to the finish line. A few get a reprive for a while once they sober up.
You have yourself in a fix there. My doc gave me an RX for an anti anxiety medicine that we fondly call my "don't bite Mike pills." I don't know why I WOUND UP TAKING THE PILLS...but they do seem to help me NOT react when he was being unreasonable, and down right mean.
BTW, Mike had really sore breasts, not just one nipple. We asked about
it on this site and several of the fellows pointed out that the hormones get mixed up with liver disease and men can get extra breast tissue that any 13 year old girl would be proud to have! He didn't like that a tee shirt could make the nipples hurt.
(Can you see me chuckling?...any woman who has every been preggers knows what that feels like!)
Since transplant he has not complained of that, though the tissue has not all gone away.
Good luck, come often, this may be a long haul for you both, so dial the drama back if you can, take care of yourself. He is a really sick dude.
