Hi, Daughter02. Your dad's CHF is not related to his cirrhosis. The only connection that I know of would be if the ascites fluid is seeping into the pericardium (the sac around the heart.) But we are not doctors here, so your dad's doctor will be the one to explain everything to the family.
The agitation and slurred speech sound like they may be due to hepatic encephalopathy (HE.) Do you know if his ammonia level has been checked or if he is on Lactulose? Having days and nights mixed up is a symptom of liver disease. Is he seeing a hepatologist?
I'm not sure about
cirrhosis showing up on the liver as a shadow. Probably not. Biopsy is the gold standard for diagnosing cirrhosis.
When do you expect to get the results of his tests?
