David sent me that article. It's like the one that hit Mayo here. He got prison time. But it happened that I was one of his patients (I think it had to be during my first hip revision at Mayo), as I was contacted by letter. They offered free testing in my home, so a nurse came out and drew for hep C, hep B, and HIV. Even though I have hep C, I could be reinfected with a different strain than the one I have (genotype 1a, so could get 1b or 2.) Everything was clear, so I was one of the lucky ones. I hope that the patients who recently encountered the same thing will also be notified and offered testing and treatment.
