Hi everybody. Just checking in. Every so often I read back through the old posts and it blows my mind seeing what we went through. The selfless people in here helped me so much...The advice I got in here saved my wife's life (and my sanity more than once). Wish there was some way I could give back. Things are well with us now. Wife and daughter are still healthy. Side effects from the anti-rejection meds are always gonna be an ongoing battle, but nothing like the hell we went through before.
I never did get promoted in the military and had to leave that career. However, the new field I took back in D.C. due to my wife' s transplant got me the dream job I've always wanted back home in Az, working for the National Guard where I first started...Talk about
LUCK. We bought our dream house back in October and I've been working in my new job for a year now back among the friends who originally inspired me career-wise.
Just wanted to stop in and say hello. Things do sometimes miraculously get better if you trust they will. If one person reads this and gains some ounce of hope from it then the time I took to write it was worth it.
