I posted a long reply on your thread. I don't know what exactly to suggest unless you have a MELD score. What insurance does he have? That matters. Has he had banded varicies, acites? What types of medical are you looking for? Gastro, Hepa, hospital? Let's start with finding his MELD from his bloods. www.mayoclinic.org/meld/mayomodel6.html
And Oshsner hospital is rather close it appears. I have heard someone post in the past (somewhere??) their transplant experience they were well pleased with.
Just a FYI, themister did not have a Medicare product that worked for where he was with needing a transplant eval. We lived in a state with no transplant hospital. So...I moved us to AZ much earlier than we planned. Good news for us. Our home went under contract Friday. Themister has seen his new GI/Hepa, PCP, had rx refills, labs ordered, an ultrasound ordered, and the transplant eval is happening first week of July ...AND, we moved. All since May 1st! There is always a way. You are doing some valuable research for the road ahead.
Hugs again, themiz
