Well I had the USS and the answer was.......... too much cake! No ascites present whatsoever - in fact my hep has taken me off Norfloxacin because she feels that the risk of antibiotic resistance outweighs the likelihood of contracting SBP when there is no fluid. Interestingly, my hep wants me to keep going with propranolol and omeprazole (albeit at half the dose), for prophylaxis.
My liver looked better than it did last time I was scanned - they mentioned that the right lobe was slightly smaller than they would expect to see, and the left lobe larger and that they had initially put this down to diffuse disease, but now actually think that it may be the norm for me.
So, with bloods in the normal ranges, nothing sinister on USS, no varices and no need for diuresis I think I can be confident that I am Child-Pugh A. They don't want to see me again for six months.
Hope you had a good scan today too, Connie!
