Hi its a while since i posted - my hubby Arthur is now on the transplant waiting list here in the Canary Islands, Spain (thanks to all the info i received from you guys i persisted and we eventually got to see a specialist who knew what he was dealing with). We have been told that he has 2 small (>2cm) tumours on his liver and very bad cirrhosis (alcohol related), so a transplant is the best option in his case. He has been 10 months alcohol free and has passed all the pre transplant evaluations. So now we wait. I have a question if anyone can help with it. He has edema in his feet and legs (no ascites) it is too painful to walk. we have tried all the natural remedy suggestions - raise legs above heart for 30 mins 4 times per day, no salt, low fat, low sugar, massage from feet towards heart and medications (diuretiecs). However he can no longer take the diuretics as they raise his potassium levels which would be detrimental to his health for the transplant. Can anyone suggest anything else we can try? We have heard you can have them drained but dont know if this is true.
Best Regards Cath and Arthur
