I have come to the conclusion that vitamins bought online and off the shelf are mostly fillers and a waste of money. They make you feel better for a period of time through the placebo effect. After about a month I wondered what the hell I was doing. I decided not to supplement with store bought chemicals from big companies that did not have my health in mind.
I believe the best supplements are fresh and flash frozen raw fruits and vegetables. I use a nice blender to get them into my body in concentrated amounts.
Smoothies and a quality protein powder are a great way to get nutrients in your body.
One of my favorites:
hand full of Blueberries, 4-5 strawberries, two cups spinach/kale, one sliced apple, 20 ounce skim milk, start blender and bring to a liquid state, add three tbsp ground flaxseed or oil, three tsp cinnamon, 1.5 tsp turmeric, dollop peanut butter, three scoops protein powder, banana, makes three 14-16 ounce servings.
To get the best absorption of the turmeric, chew 7-10 peppercorns to a complete mush before or after drinking the smoothie.
