Welcome to the liver forum of Healing Well.
I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis of fatty liver. Since your scans don't suggest major problems at this time, I agree with ppm guy, that lifestyle changes are all you may need to do. In talking with my partners Hepatologist recently he told me that unchecked, fatty liver can lead to very serious liver symptoms...so getting it under control NOW is important. (Don't be like folks who won't quit smoking til they have advanced lung cancer.)
I also cannot say why you have rt quadrant pain, though pain can sometimes be "referred", ie not in the exact place where the problem is. MY partner has burning, pins and needles in his FEET, but the problem has been determined to come from 3 pinched nerves and bulging disks in his lower spine!
What do your liver enzymes look like? Did they do a complete metabolic profile? Did someone test your amylase and protease to see if your pancreas is having some issue? That can cause all kinds of pain. They could do an upper endoscopy and take a look at what is going on.
By the way, my partner (who had has very serious liver issues, see below) has a cyst in his rt kidney and one in his liver, but no one is worried about those either. I have one in each also, and one septated in my pancreas that does have my doctor attention, but he just does an MRI every 6 months and takes pretty pictures of it.
Sorry you are going through all this...don't drop it,, get to the bottom of it!
YOu might want to talk to the GI doc for a follow up if you continue to feel
