If Fatty Liver turns into NASH can it be reversed or is it a lifelong condition? I'm very overweight and take PPI's for GERD which worry me because they are hard on the liver. Obviously weight loss will help but what other steps can can I take? Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place because I don't have hepatitis.

hi brandono5w ans welcome,
fatty liver is very treatable.

losing weight is #1. stay away from sugary, starchy carbs. watch labels for additives such as any fructose, sucrose. Adding some exercise that you can maintain. absolutely no alcohol for now.

ask your dr to check your liver enzymes periodically. this will let you know how your liver is responding to your efforts. in most cases your liver will heal when your enzymes are normal.

let me know how your progressing or have questions. good luck
