Faking an Illness online

As many of you know, in cyberspace you really never know what is true and what is not.  This is especially true in the forums... you cannot always believe what one person says is true or not.  While we should try to be empathetic to others, it is not like the real world where you know first hand someone's problems or experiences.  The following is a link about people that fake illness online:
 
 
It is almost impossible to "prove" what is true and what isn't, so my advice is just be prudent and cautious and know the warning signs of someone that may not be telling the truth.
 
This is not directed at any particular forum member, despite the recent off-forum and on-forum happenings.  Is is something you should be aware of to avoid being emotionally hurt online.
