I have cirrhosis and can feel the changes in my personality and inability to function well. I must say that though many of you mean well i truly resent the implication that something called god gave me this and is now lovingly leading me and my family through all this suffering and pain. I much prefer to believe that i contracted this disease through something beyond my control and will shortly suffer more and then die simply because life and the forces which create it are indifferent to suffering or to our very existence. God is nothing more than a figment of our imagination which we invented in order to save our sanity from facing reality.

We are all entitled to our beliefs. If prayer helps one person to cope with illness and suffering let them have that support. If you don't believe or need this support you are also entitled to your beliefs and i would not criticise you for them. This is generally a Forum where we offer support to one another, not criticism but we listen to everyone who posts and try top understand their point of view.
