Hi everyone,

I'm beginning to really feel the tiredness and just want to sleep.  But then in the middle of the night I can't sleep......i have 17 more shots...... :-) I have mood swings and the kids and jeff doesn't understand it.....No sympathy there!!!!!!!!!  This isn't me and its so hard...I work full time, but I had to take today off.....Everyone is use to me doing everything and they just don't get it.......I do have my one sister that calls me every day.  i told my daughter that it makes me sad that that she calls every day and she said why because she cares!!!!!! I just hope it doesn't get worse.....

Also when i get my shot in the stomach it doesn't hurt at all, but when its in the leg ouchhhh!!!!!

I drank my first pepsi in a month just an hour ago just for some energy!!!!!  Hope it doesn't make me sick....

Crackers help me a lot!!!! I really haven't got sick yet.....but when I feel like I'm going to I eat 2 crackers and I feel so much better.......

I just needed to vent....

sorry I haven't been on...its been rough.....

Thanks for listening

eileen

Eileen,
My hubby has 8 more treatments to go. In some ways it might get easier, but the mood swings have continued with him. Please keep reminding your hubby, that you MUST finish this treatment, and that your mood will level out when the treatments are over. It is NOT easy to be the spouse either,,,,,,,its hard to watch the one you love be so sick, and at the same time,be so,,,,,,,mean at times too,but try to keep a sense of humor whenever you can,and maybe it would help hubby if he talked on here,so HE has a place to vent too. Good luck Eileen, and just keep in your mind, this too shall pass,,,,,,,,

Eileen,
His first treatment was the first week of january, the dr says 28 weeks he has to take them,if it works that is,maybe more if it doesnt work. hes got 16 weeks completed,so 12 more to go. Some things have gotten a little bit better,he was violently ill the first couple of months, and its not as bad now. He just sleeps alot now. No he doesnt work, hes applied for SS. Hes got 3rd stage cirrhosis too,I cant imagine him trying to work through this. He had a very strenuous job. Sounds like you have a lot shorter treatment cycle then he does. Probably a different geno type then him,or not as much viral load. Do NOT quit early, cause then all youve been through will be for nothing. Good luck and ya have a good holiday too

Whatever you do, don't stop treatments. I know someone who took them for a year and was very ill...had to quit working, but got a pension from work to see her through. I actually had applied for SSD on hep C and was denied. I had to continue working. I eventually got Social Security Disability based on hip replacements that basically left me crippled. One side has been redone and now I need another revision on the same side--which they won't do now because I have liver cancer They would not give me disability based on the hep C because my bilirubin was not high enough and I was not in liver failure. When you have a liver problem plus another health problem and a long work history...they eventually approve your claim.

Hang in there!

Hugs,
Connie

Eileen. Sorry the treatment is knocking you around so much. Try to perservere. It's important you continue the treatment until the finish. I am glad your sister is there for you. My sister who passed away in January was always there for me as i was for her. Now her husband and my other sisters are contacting me regularly. It's family and friends who will help you through this and remember your friends at the Forum are always there for your "ventings".
Take care. Marg

no one has told us what genotype, isnt that just wonderful??? Rick thinks the dr said E??? His specialist has a lil problem with English on some things,so I have a hard time following everything in the convo...Im goin to make sure to ask specifically next time we see him. The last time we were there,we were bombarded my info.so my brain only retained the really important things.

Trish, write down your questions before the next appt.  Take them with you and refer to your list.  Also write down what he says that you feel is important, even if you didn't ask him about it.  Another option is to get a handheld recorder and ask him if you may tape the conversation so you won't forget things he has said.  I have never known a doctor to refuse to allow this.

Get all the information you can, and good luck!  They have come so far with hepatitis knowledge and treatment.  When I was diagnosed with hep C in March of '93, (by blood test in Oct. '92, but required a biopsy for diagnosis of chronic active, which was done 03/93), they had only had a blood test for C just over a year.  They were not into genotypes and such...just a question of active or not.  The only treatment at the time was Interferon A, 3 shots a week, with only a 25% remission rate overall.  Treatment and results are so much better now.

God's blessings,

Connie

Hello everyone,

Had another busy and rough week.  The end of the semester stuff going on at the college and getting ready for the summer semester to begin.   Had to put my older dog down she was very ill that was very hard. Well had the 10th shot last night very sore right now.  but mentally ok not like last week never know what to expect.  14 more to go as the doc says.

I will have the viral load checked may 26th. Hope that big number comes down.  Going to my daughters awards this week (inducted into national honor society)then all the grad stuff begins.  this is going pretty quick because I'm so busy....and just writing a little helps me vent.

thanks and hugs,

eileen

Hi Eileen,

You do sound like you are doing a bit better with your treatment. Congradulations on your daughters very high honors and achievements! I know your very proud of her! I am so sorry to hear about your dog, they are part of the family and it hurts when we lose them. Keep hanging in there! Bless you and your family.

Eileen, my sympathies also about your dog. I will be facing that someday with my cats, now 16 1/2 and 17.

Also, I congratulate your daughter on her achievements. Being in the National Honor Society is no small thing! I know you are a proud mama.

Hang in there with the treatment...you are doing great!

Hugs,

Almost half way there Eileen. Hang in there. Sorry to hear about your old dog. I remember how hard it was when we had our last dog out down. Our current pooch is 10 years old, my husbands 50th birthday present from his baseball team, named EFFIE, becasue they were in F grade and promoted to E grade. I can't imagine life without her.
Congratulations on your daughters achievements. You must be very proud.Take care everyone.
