I'm wondering if anybody else has anal skin tags.  Also wondering if there is anything I can do to get rid of them or make them shrink.

A skin tag is just excess skin, right? I had one on my bum, about an inch or 2 away from my "star" and my Derm just sliced it right off.

7Lil, you got very lucky...there is such a thing as perianal crohn's skin tags, while they are in a flare (large and hard) they should not be cut off or attempted to be removed in ANY way...if they are not flaring then they can be safely cut off...these are related to crohn's disease only, they are diseased anal tissue and it they are removed while they are flaring they may never heal because they are diseased tissues and would likely remain an open wound which would lead to many re-occuring infections and such (very painful considering the location of feces constantly passing through the anus)...

softy, tread with caution.

Hmmm... I guess mine was just a random thing, like a mole. I have lots of moles... I get 1 removed per year (due to insurance purposes). Back in Feb I went to Brazil and I had 14 removed at once.

Softy, my tag was totally harmless (removed in March and already completely healed) - please make sure your tag is checked out thoroughly.

Thanks guys. I've been reading these boards for quite a while & have seen the website PB4 referenced on the Crohn's site and I don't think mine are elephant ears. I do have some Crohn's symptoms and have been through every test imaginable looking for Crohn's and nothing is ever found which leads me to wonder if other people get skin tags (I have LOTS) and if there was any other way besides surgically to shrink them. They are ugly, itchy, hard to clean and quite uncomfortable :-(
