I have this mass right below my rib cage I can move it around. When I lay on my side I can feel it underneath my belly button when I lay on my back it goes up under my rib cage. It hurts all the time. The doctors cant figure it out, they just keep giving me pain meds and im frustrated because now I have to go in to the Dr every week and get more pain meds. Im starting to feel like I might be becoming dependant on the percocet. I have had this mass since Feb of 08. Has anyone else encountered this? Im starting to worry. They have ruled out cancer and tumors but really what is going on in there? I just want it to go away so I can feel a little bit more normal. i got most of my IBS symptoms under control with diet and medication but now that this mass is getting more and more painful I can no longer exercise. It hurts really bad when I just walk around. Its almost like a side stich that you get after a long run but multiplied by 10. I dont know what to do. Any ideas??????????

What did the CT scan show? Have you had a MRI? It has to be something if it is a mass and how did they rule out the tumors and cancer. Sometimes it takes a different radiologist to look at the CT scan and they pick up things the other missed. I had a mass on left side which scared me to death and finally they decided I had two spleens but the first report said mass. My PCP didn't seem that concerned. I didn't have pain though and I see no reason why you would have to see a Dr. every week for pain pills. I think a MRI is in order if you haven't had one. It could be a muscular thing.
