severe cramps in centre of abdomen

I have mild proctitis and IBS and the last few days have had awful cramping, spasmodic pain in the middle of my abdomen, around my belly button.  I never usually get pain here as it is usually on the left or right side.  Is this a usual place to get pain with IBS? Thanks
